Really Cool!

OK - so it is not a new pattern that I want to show you, but my latest model! A friend of mine sold me one of her hair stylist "heads" for displaying my hats. I really think it displays much better than flat pics of hats! What do you think?

Toddler Basketweave Earflap Hat

This is the basketweave pattern in a toddler size with earflaps added. This worked up in about 90 minutes as I had to write instructions during the creation. Gracie is modeling it - she is almost 3 so I suspect it would fit a 3-5 year old.

I am going to create this pattern for sale and will include the hat with and without earflaps.

This hat was worked in Red Heart Super Saver yarn.

Let me know what you think!

Adult Basketweave Hat

I posted this pattern the first time I created it, but it was with a variegated yarn and the basketweave was hard to see. This time, while I was capturing the instructions, I decided to use a solid color. It is much easier to see the pattern now. Let me know if you want to test the pattern out for me! I am planning on publishing this pattern for sale and will be including smaller size and male sizes as well. I used Bernat Berella 4 and a size H hook. It took me about 90 minutes to make, but I was also capturing the instructions.

Another Cool Scarf Pattern!

This is another great free crochet pattern that I found on Ravelry. You can find it here: SapphireChild.blogspot.com and the designer's name is Julia Redman. This is a very easy pattern. I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn instead of the recommended yarn so mine was a little bit longer and wider, but I love it! Hopefully whoever receives it as a gift will like it too!

Child's Granny Hat

This pattern worked up in about 40 minutes and only used about 1.5 oz of each color. Very easy to follow. The pattern is by Suzetta Williams and it is a free crochet pattern. You can visit her site here: http://suzies-yarnie-stuff.blogspot.com/2008/03/kids-granny-hat-c.html

She has a lot of wonderful free crochet patterns. You can also find her patterns on Ravelry.

Scarf Crazy!!

I decided to start using up all of my odds and ends of yarn and what better item to make than scarves? They are great to have on hand for Christmas gifts or any last minute gift for that matter. This was just a simple double crochet patter that I was experimenting with. I used three strands of yarn - 2 strands of worsted weight and 1 strand of bulky. For the bulky yarn I used Lion Brand Boucle that I purchased at Job Lot for $1 a skein. The large scarves used about 2 ounces each of the worsted weight and 2 skeins of the boucle. It took about 45 minutes per scarf to complete. I made a total of 12 over the last 2 weeks. These are just a few samples!
