Carter really liked this hat and it stays on his head!  This is another pattern I purchases on Etsy from Speckled Frog.  Yes, it was one of four patterns I purchased as part of the special she runs on her shop.  It is another pattern that is easy to follow and works up quickly.  I used Red Heart Super Saver.  You really should check out her shop!  :)

I used a J hook and Vanna's Choice Baby yarn.  As I was able to purchase the yarn at Job Lot, the total cost for the afghan was $9.

If you are looking for a very easy pattern then try this one out.   It took me about 15 hours to complete, but it is one of those patterns that you can pick up easily in between other projects.  I completed this one during a vacation to Cape Cod during this last summer.

Newsboy Cap

This pattern has a little 'attitude' and is quite easy to work up.  The pattern can be made in masculine colors and is very suitable.  I purchased the pattern from speckledfrogcrochet on Etsy.  The direct link to the pattern is here.  The pattern is $4.99, but she runs a special of buy 3 get 1 free - so basically 4 patterns for $15.  She also allows you to sell the items that you make from the pattern.  The pattern works up in about 2 hours.

I used worsted weight yarn - Vanna's Choice Baby - it is such a soft yarn and you can purchase it at Ocean State Job Lot for $3 per 7oz skein.  In Michaels and other stores they charge more than that for the 3.5 oz skein.

Single Crochet Cap for Boys

My grandson, Cameron, requested a new hat :)  I made this pattern up as I went along.  I did not document it so will need to do that now that I see it!  I really like it and it has a much more masculine feel to it.  I used Red Heart Super Saver (worsted weight) and a J hook.  It took about 1.5 hours to complete.

More Dishcloths!

I absolutely love this pattern - very easy - I am sure I posted pics before, but I found these new colors from Bernat and wanted to try them out.

I purchased the Bernat Country Colors Cotton yarn at AC Moore. It is about $7 for 14 oz, but I used a 50% off coupon so it was just $3.50!

New Crocheted Scrubbies

These were really easy to make - probably about 30 minutes each, including the construction. This is a free pattern from Ravelry - created by Judith Prindle. There is even a YouTube video to show you how to construct it once you have crocheted it. Here is the link to the pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/spiral-scrubbie. These are great for washing off makeup and in the shower with shower gels. Since they are 100% cotton you can just throw them in the washer and dry on low. Pretty cool and provides a cost savings since you don't have to buy those disposable cotton pads.

Toddler Basketweave Earflap Hat

This is the basketweave pattern in a toddler size with earflaps added. This worked up in about 90 minutes as I had to write instructions during the creation. Gracie is modeling it - she is almost 3 so I suspect it would fit a 3-5 year old.

I am going to create this pattern for sale and will include the hat with and without earflaps.

This hat was worked in Red Heart Super Saver yarn.

Adult Basketweave Hat

I posted this pattern the first time I created it, but it was with a variegated yarn and the basketweave was hard to see. This time, while I was capturing the instructions, I decided to use a solid color. It is much easier to see the pattern now. Let me know if you want to test the pattern out for me! I am planning on publishing this pattern for sale and will be including smaller size and male sizes as well. I used Bernat Berella 4 and a size H hook. It took me about 90 minutes to make, but I was also capturing the instructions.

Weekend Crochet

It was a crazy, busy, busy weekend! I managed to finish several hats including the one above. The pattern for this one came out of "Crochet For Babies" by The Needlecraft shop. I used Vanna's Choice yarn and followed the instructions for size 2. Mine came out large enough for a teen/small adult. I usually use a hook one size smaller than the pattern, but for this one I didn't and I am still happy with the results. I will probably try a lighter weight yarn and smaller hook the next time.
